Welcome to our new website and our exciting new blog. Here we are nearing the end of the very strange year that was 2020 a year we will never forget. Our salon had to close its doors along with many other businesses on the 14th of march. That weekend was a bitter-sweet weekend for the team here at K Club Hairdressing, amidst the fear and worry of an impending

lockdown we got some fantastic news!!!!

At 3pm on Friday 13th of March some very important results were revealed online. We were patiently waiting to hear if we had won place in the prestigious grand final of the loreal colour trophy. We could believe our eyes when we seen our salons name beside all the big Dublin Citysalon. We had made it.

I have entered the loreal colour trophy 4 times but with no joy. This time I had started to work on a mood board and inspiration as early as December. This time I was setting sights on a place in the final. I travelled to Dublin to find a model, the brilliant Gabriel from Ros modelling agency help me to find Leah who was perfect for the look I had in my mind she also put me in contact with Sean who was our photographer for the winning look.

The night of the shoot our little salon was transformed into a bright professional studio. It was my first time working with a professional model and I really enjoyed it. Photo shoots and competition work is a great way to expand your creativity and try new ideas and then you have the pleasure of them coming to life before your eyes.

Fast forward to that weekend in March where we awaited news of our impending closure, for how long we didn’t know and the glimmer of hope that we made the grade with loreal.

It feels like such an honour to be recognised in this event and even more of an honour to be one of the only 2 salons outside the capital city that made it through.

The glittering celebrations and competition had to be put on hold for this year, but we are looking for to June 2021 when hopefully the grand final will take place.
